Charitable gaming: Raising money while having fun

Do you want to be the very best like no one ever was? Do you want to jump your way across the world as everyone’s favorite red-and-blue plumber? Do you want to save Hyrule and defeat Calamity Ganon?

If so, then you might just be a gamer!

Being a gamer means that you love to solve puzzles, defeat baddies, battle alongside your friends, and most of all, have a good time.

Although some grumpy adults may shake their heads and ask why kids spend so much time on games, gaming is a great way to bring different people together, no matter what age, race, ethnicity, religion, or gender.

This is one of the greatest strengths of the gaming community, and it is why a charity like Extra Life can get so much support.

Extra Life is a charity made by gamers to fund Children's Miracle Network Hospitals around the country. It is easy to get involved for a great cause while playing your favorite games. Simply sign up to play games on the Extra Life website and get adults and friends to donate while you play.

The money will go directly to your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. If you love the camera, you can do a live stream for your donors with your parents’ permission.

If you want to think bigger and get the community involved, consider throwing a gaming marathon party on a weekend. Everyone brings their games and consoles, and a fee is collected to get into the party.

All the money collected from the fees can then be piled together and donated to the charity. This way, you are having fun while maximizing the positive impact you will have on your community! You can then feel great afterwards knowing that you raised money to help kids just like you recover from illnesses.
